How did your journey began?
My henna journey began when I was 14-15 years old in Coimbatore. I was bored during my holidays and my mom asked me to start doing henna with cousin and that’s where it all started. What started as a hobby soon turned into a business as I developed my skills and built a loyal clientele.

If you weren’t an doing this, what do you think you’d be doing?
Food Scientist (I have a masters degree in Food science)

What’s a random fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I sleep a lot. Only time I don’t feel sleepy is while doing henna.

What’s the best piece of life advice you’ve ever received?
“Know your worth and stand by it.” Even if 2-3 bookings, charge your worth and don’t compromise.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges was pricing my work confidently. Early on, I struggled with clients undervaluing my artistry, and there were instances where I wasn’t paid what I deserved. Over time, I learned to set clear pricing, stand my ground, and educate clients about the skill, effort, and quality that go into my henna work. Another challenge was rebuilding my business from scratch when I moved to California. Networking, social media marketing, and word-of-mouth helped me establish myself in a new place.

What are your dreams or goals?
I dream of owning my own henna shop and helping henna become more widely recognized in Poland.

Are there any upcoming projects you're excited about?
I’m also working on launching an online class focused on helping henna artists start and grow their businesses. This projects is close to my heart because it will be one of a kind where I will teach how to establish business

What advice would you give to aspiring artists who are just starting out?
Practice consistently, be patient with your growth, and never hesitate to charge what you’re worth. Work on your social media game.Social media is a great tool—use it to showcase your work and connect with potential clients.
